Before Hazard Fuel Reduction Landowner Program

After Hazard Fuel Reduction Program

Two Grants for Hazard Fuel Reduction on Private Land are Now Available.

  • New Mexico Association of Counties (NMAC) 08-09 Wildfire Risk Reduction Program Grant for Rural Communities:

    • Was established in 2005 under the National Fire Plan to assist communities throughout New Mexico in reducing their risk from wildland fire.
    • The Communities of Wild Horse and Horse Mountain can use this grant program for the year 2008 - June 1, 2009
    • Additional grant monies have been applied for 2009 - 2010, but has not been awarded at this time.

 

20 Communities Hazard Fuels Reduction Grant

  • Available for All Communities in Catron County and will run for the next year and half.

"Communities for Healthy Forests"

Mission Statement:

Communities for Healthy Forests was founded to inform the public, natural resource managers and policy makers about catastrophic stand clearing events in public forests caused by fire, and other natural disasters.  Communities for Healthy Forests exists to illustrate and explain the benefits of applying the best scientifically supported prescriptions for restoring health to overgrown forests and to rehabilitate severely damaged forests promptly following such events.
